| 概要 | We examined the decrease in child deaths from smallpox before and after vaccination was introduced on the outskirts of Tokyo. We would like to stress the drastic decrease in smallpox mortality as of 1875, thanks to the widespread practice of compulsory vaccination. Our research findings suggest that the decrease in smallpox mortality underwent three phases. |
